1. What We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Bilt.ly:

  • Account information — email address, username, and password hash when you register
  • IP address — collected at the time of requests for rate limiting and security purposes
  • Click data — when a short link is clicked we record the short code, timestamp, device type, country, and referrer URL
  • User agent strings — collected with click events to determine device and browser type

2. How We Use It

  • To provide and operate the URL shortening service
  • To enforce usage and rate limits by subscription tier
  • To display click analytics to the account owner in their dashboard
  • For security, fraud prevention, and abuse detection

3. Data Sharing

We share data only with the following service providers as necessary to operate the service:

  • Stripe — payment processing for paid subscriptions
  • Vercel — hosting, CDN, and edge functions
  • Supabase — database hosting and storage

We never sell personal data to third parties.

4. Cookies

We use a single cookie: biltly_token — an HttpOnly authentication cookie set on login or registration. It expires in 24 hours and is used solely to maintain your session. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies.

5. Data Retention

  • Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request
  • Click analytics are retained according to your tier's history limits
  • Guest IP address data used for rate limiting is deleted daily

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To make a request, email us at adm.biltly@gmail.com. You may also delete your account directly from your settings page.

7. Children

This service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will notify registered users of material changes to this Privacy Policy by email before those changes take effect.
